Zereniti House

Zereniti House is a boutique hotel and garden venue on Gatatha Road, off Limuru Road, in Redhill, Tigoni, in Kiambu County. Surrounded by tea estates and tall, mature trees, it has seven suites, a two-bedroom residence and a three-bedroom penthouse, plus indoor and outdoor restaurant areas. Its website says it has more than ten years' experience in hospitality and events.

Weddings use four named gardens, Frangipani, Jacaranda, Pine and Jasmine, which can be combined for a ceremony, cocktails and a reception. The hotel gives the gardens a capacity of 500 people on its home page and 300 on its meetings page. Indoors, the Bamboo Hall seats up to 100, can be divided into two rooms and has a private terrace looking towards a dam and waterfall; it also serves as the venue for wedding evening parties. The Frangipani boardroom suits 10 to 15 people, and tented meetings in the gardens take groups of 20 to 60. Wedding pergolas seat 50 each theatre-style.

The venue promotes itself for weddings, including weekend-long destination weddings with the bridal party staying on site, and for conferences, board meetings, retreats and team-building days. A lounge decorated in a Victorian style is used for bridal pick-up ceremonies.

Food comes from the hotel's own kitchen, which offers wedding menus; outside caterers can use a separate preparation area for a fee. The hotel runs its own bar, and a corkage fee applies if couples bring their own alcohol. The meeting spaces have Wi-Fi, and wedding packages include parking with traffic staff, security guards, washrooms, a 20 kVA backup generator and a day room for the couple. Because the area is residential, non-resident wedding guests are expected to leave by 6.30pm unless an evening party is booked in the hall, where parties run until 1am. The venue does not hire out chairs.

Wedding programmes end by 6 pm and non-resident guests leave by 6.30 pm (residential area) unless an evening party is booked in the hall, which runs until 1 am. Reception music is lowered from 6 pm and turned off at 6.30 pm. No cooking, grilling or washing up in the gardens; caterers can use a prep area for a fee. Two set-up days (7 am to 6 pm) are allowed; set-down the day after. No chairs for hire.
