About this space

Villa Rosa Kempinski is a five-star hotel on Chiromo Road in Westlands, Nairobi, run by the Kempinski group. Alongside around 200 rooms and suites, it has a spa, an outdoor pool and a cluster of restaurants and bars, including the Italian restaurant LUCCA, the Middle Eastern Tambourin, the K Lounge and the Balcony Bar. Its event venues are grouped together on the second floor.

The main space is Fedora, a Victorian-inspired ballroom of 627 square metres with chandeliers, natural daylight and access to a terrace. It seats 350 at a banquet, holds 450 for a cocktail reception and 500 in theatre style, or 240 in classroom style and 120 around a U-shape. The room can also be divided into seven separate spaces when a smaller room is needed. The Opus Meeting Room, at 30 square metres, takes between 20 and 30 people depending on layout, and the compact Olare Mara Boardrooms are intended for small planning meetings.

The hotel pitches its venues at conferences, board meetings, executive sessions and other corporate events, and at private occasions such as weddings, gala dinners, bridal showers and birthday celebrations. Fedora is presented as suitable for anything from a presentation to a banquet dinner.

Events are run by a dedicated groups and events team, with menus designed by the hotel's culinary team and décor and floral arrangements available. The ballroom comes with an LED screen, a portable stage, a lectern, flip charts, audio-visual systems and high-speed Wi-Fi, and it is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. The Opus room adds video-conferencing. Parking and transfers can be arranged, and guests can stay in the hotel's rooms; the hotel holds EarthCheck Gold certification for its sustainability work. Prices for venue hire and packages are not published, so organisers request a proposal from the events team by phone or email.
