Thayu Farm Hotel

Thayu Farm Hotel is a small countryside hotel in Tigoni, Limuru, in the tea-growing highlands of Kiambu County. It sits on 5.75 acres of gardens and indigenous trees along the Kabuku–Tigoni road, and the hotel puts it about 30 minutes' drive from central Nairobi. The family-run property grew out of a farm home: its round cottages were built by the founders, and its meeting room was made from the timber of the farm's old stables.

Events here are deliberately small. The hotel says it specialises in intimate celebrations of 20 to 50 guests, with garden ceremonies held under an old fig tree and receptions by the fire. The Log Cabin Meeting Room, with a central fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows and access to a garden terrace, is set up for meetings with conference seating for 12. No larger hall or banquet capacity is published.

The hotel markets itself for weddings, corporate retreats, meetings, intimate celebrations and creative residencies, and its grounds have also been described as suited to team building and parties. Groups can add outings nearby, such as guided e-bike rides through the tea country, tea farm tours and golf at Limuru Country Club, which the hotel can help arrange.

Food comes from an in-house culinary team that grows its own herbs, buys from local farmers and caters for dietary needs, and the meeting room comes with refreshments. Free on-site parking and high-speed Wi-Fi are listed across the property, and a tour operator's listing mentions a bar and lounge. Overnight guests can stay in round cottages, suites, a loft or the annex on a bed-and-breakfast basis, which suits a wedding party or retreat group staying over. The hotel doesn't publish event prices, so packages are quoted on enquiry by phone or email.
