Naishola Gardens

Naishola Gardens is a private garden wedding venue on Gathoni Park Farm in Tigoni, Limuru, surrounded by tea plantations. It sits along Limuru Road, less than two kilometres from the main gate of St Paul's University. The family that owns the farm opened its landscaped grounds to events, and the name comes from a Maasai word meaning gift. Mature trees, wide lawns, flower borders and a river valley set the scene.

A booking takes the whole property for the day. The rate card names four gardens, Naishola Lawns, Naishola Meadows, Gathoni Garden and Gathoni Barns, and the website adds a Sensory Garden. Couples also get a bridal day room and bridal lounge. The venue doesn't publish guest numbers for any of its spaces, so planners should ask about capacity and tenting for their layout. Parking takes more than 500 vehicles.

Weddings are the main business, with ceremonies and receptions held across the gardens. The venue also says it hosts corporate events, parties, photo shoots and filming, and it runs picnics. A tea field, a barn, an old country house, antique furniture and vintage farm equipment serve as backdrops for photographs.

The standard wedding rate covers exclusive use of all the gardens from 6am to 6pm, a rehearsal day for the bridal party, two free set-up days and one set-down day, power and water, two day guards, two parking attendants, washrooms and the NEMA licence for the day. A free engagement shoot is included. Evening parties cost extra, and a refundable deposit is required. The venue says it can arrange catering, décor and ceremony set-ups, and coordinate the day.
