Maryen Gardens

Maryen Gardens is a wedding and events venue in Redhill, off Limuru Road, in Kiambu County on the northern edge of Nairobi. The grounds are planted with mature trees, flower beds of roses, lilies and hydrangeas, and winding paths, giving a green garden setting for ceremonies, receptions and photographs.

The main outdoor space is a large, well-kept grass lawn for ceremonies and receptions; the venue's own pages give its capacity as 1,000 in one place and 2,000 in another, so confirm the figure for your layout. Indoors there are two halls with high ceilings and chandeliers, each seating 250 guests at round tables. The two can be opened into a single hall with a stage, seating 500 at round tables, which suits a large banquet, a conference or a wet-weather plan for a garden wedding.

Weddings are the venue's focus, but it also markets itself for birthday and graduation parties, corporate events such as team-building days, end-of-year parties and product launches, and conferences, seminars and workshops in its halls. The grounds can also be booked for photoshoots.

A commercial kitchen is available for an outside caterer, and the venue says catering can be arranged with its wedding and banquet packages. The conference package includes presentation equipment. Guests have use of a large, guarded car park and well-appointed washrooms in the garden area. Suppliers get two days to set up and one day to clear down, and one day is allowed for a rehearsal, arranged with the staff.

Evening parties after a wedding can run on overnight for an extra fee charged from 8pm. The venue has solar back-up for its lights but no generator yet, so organisers should ask their sound supplier to bring one. Tours can be booked by phone or WhatsApp, and rates are sent on request by email.
