MARULA MANOR - THE ROYAL MANOR

About this space

Marula Manor, which also trades as The Royal Manor, is a private events estate on Marula Lane in Karen, on the south-western side of Nairobi. The property has an old English-style manor house with rustic architecture, set among landscaped gardens, and it is open only for booked events and appointments rather than to walk-in visitors.

The venue offers both outdoor and indoor space. Its manicured lawns are used for ceremonies, receptions and photography, and a directory listing points to a waterfall near the main house and mature trees along the garden paths as favourite spots for pictures. The venue doesn't publish a maximum capacity or figures by layout; it describes its capacity as flexible, from small gatherings to large celebrations, so planners should confirm numbers for a seated dinner or a standing reception when they enquire.

Weddings and receptions are the estate's main business, from traditional ceremonies to modern receptions. It also hosts corporate events such as board meetings, seminars, training sessions and annual company functions, as well as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, church events and private parties. The open grounds are offered for team-building days and company fun days, and the venue markets itself for exhibitions, product launches, photoshoots and film productions.

The venue promotes its secure, spacious parking and reliable backup power. It doesn't say whether it provides catering, so couples and organisers should ask whether food, décor and furniture come from the venue or from their own suppliers. Bookings are made through a request form on the venue's website, which asks for the type of event, or by phone and email. Because much of the space is outdoors, it is worth asking about tents and cover for the rainy season. Karen's quiet residential setting gives the estate a private feel within reach of central Nairobi.
