About this space

Lake House Tigoni is a private estate in the tea country of Tigoni, Limuru, about 25 kilometres from central Nairobi. It sits on Kabuku-Tigoni Road and covers eight acres of gardens and grassy slopes around its own private lake, with an old colonial-style country house at its centre. The estate is open by appointment only, so viewings and visits have to be arranged in advance.

Events take place mainly outdoors, on the lawns and in the lakeside gardens, so ceremonies can be held at the water's edge with no other guests on the estate. The venue doesn't publish its own capacity; wedding guides from 2025 and 2026 put it at up to 400 guests. A floating platform on the lake is used for smaller dining events, and the house itself hosts intimate gatherings.

Weddings are the venue's best-known use, and the estate is also hired for corporate events and retreats, engagements, birthday parties, picnics, live music and photoshoots. Couples typically book the grounds for exclusive use of the estate for the day, and a guide notes that popular dates in August, November and December fill up many months ahead.

Beyond private hire, the house is known for its dining events, including the Nairobi Supper Club, a monthly pop-up run by Mikul Shah, as well as Sunday lunches and afternoon teas. Guests can also take boat rides on the lake, fish and walk through the surrounding tea fields. Its Google listing notes free on-site parking and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, car park and toilet. The venue has no working website; enquiries go through its phone line or a direct message on Instagram. Planners should confirm catering arrangements, cover in case of rain and any overnight accommodation for the wedding party when they book.
