Karen Country Club

Karen Country Club is a private golf and country club on Karen Road in Karen, Nairobi. Founded in 1937, it describes itself as one of the oldest golf clubs in Kenya and as family-oriented. Alongside its 18-hole course it has tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool, a gym, a spa and The Residences, a set of cottages and apartment suites beside the second hole.

The club lists several event spaces around the course. The Mulwa Dam, an outdoor area overlooking the clubhouse with two fountains lit at night, is its signature spot for evening functions and corporate golf days and holds up to 500 guests. JR Martin House, a short walk from the clubhouse and named after the course's designer, has a lawn that takes a tent for up to 200 people, while the house itself fits up to 50 depending on the layout. The Ngong Room hosts conferences, meetings and private parties, and The Wetlands, a conservation area hidden in the middle of the course, is the newest setting for weddings, galas and cocktail parties. A 12-seat boardroom in the clubhouse rounds out the options.

The club markets these spaces for weddings, galas, conferences, meetings, corporate events and private parties, and the boardroom also hosts wine-pairing dinners.

Food and drink come from the club's own kitchens and bars. It offers full-day and half-day meeting packages, lunches, dinners and tea or coffee breaks, and it runs several restaurants and bars, including the Bustani and Garden Restaurant, the Fairway Restaurant and the Sundowner Bar. The Ngong Room has studio-quality sound, audio-visual equipment and Wi-Fi, plus a garden terrace by the first tee for breaks. Out-of-town guests can stay at The Residences. Access is the main practical point: the club has said its clubhouse is for members and their guests, so organisers should ask how non-members can book an event. Prices aren't published.
