About this space

Fairmont The Norfolk is a historic luxury hotel on Harry Thuku Road, about a kilometre from the centre of Nairobi. Part of the Fairmont brand within the Accor group, it has 125 rooms and suites arranged around tropical gardens, and its grounds display a collection of vintage transport that guests can see from the courtyard and verandah rooms.

The hotel has eight event venues. The largest is the Ballroom, a 198-square-metre room that takes 220 people theatre-style or 180 at banquet tables, and it divides into North and South ballrooms of about 100 square metres, each seating 64 for dinner or 120 theatre-style. The Tinga Tinga Room looks over the gardens and holds 100 theatre-style or 64 for a banquet, splitting into two smaller rooms, while four boardrooms (Menengai, Longonot, Batian and Lenana) suit meetings of 6 to 12. The lawns, fountain and courtyard can be used for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail receptions.

Fairmont promotes the Norfolk for conferences, meetings, press conferences and year-end parties, and for weddings of up to about 150 guests, with the ceremony and reception both held on site. It also hosts birthdays, anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and gala dinners, and an events specialist helps with menus, décor, themes and lighting.

Catering comes from the hotel's own kitchens, with plated, buffet, family-style and cocktail menus and options for special diets, and the property includes the Lord Delamere Terrace restaurant, a bar, an outdoor pool and a spa. Meeting rooms come with audiovisual equipment and technical support, and Wi-Fi is available. The hotel has about 250 parking spaces, offers accessible guest rooms and can hold room blocks for event guests from outside Nairobi. Event enquiries go through the hotel's main line or reservations email.
