Africa Is a Country Launches First Print Edition at Inaugural Festival in Nairobi

Nairobi, Kenya — June 26, 2025 | Africa Is a Country is proud to announce the official launch of its first-ever print edition, marking a milestone moment in the platform’s evolution from a beloved digital publication to a tangible part of the radical publishing tradition in Africa. The event will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Mist, located in The Mall, Westlands, as part of the inaugural Africa Is a Country Festival.

The print edition, titled “Revolution Deferred? 15 Years of Mass Protest in Africa”, examines a decade and a half of political uprisings, protest movements, and social change across the continent. It asks urgent questions about the outcomes, memory, and future of these movements—through powerful essays, archival reflection, and original commentary from leading African thinkers.

Held in partnership with the Nairobi Lit Fest, this launch event will feature panel discussions with contributors to the print edition as well as special appearances by collaborators from Revolutionary Papers, an initiative that examines the legacy of radical African publishing. Together, they’ll reflect on what it means to document dissent, memory, and activism through printed word in a digital age. This event is strictly for ages 21 and above and promises to be not just a launch, but a celebration of African intellectual resistance, community, and creativity.
