TEWASART AND PATRONS Presents: A Contemporary Art Affair – Emerging African Voices Showcasing Over 20 Rising Artists from Across the Continent

August 12, 2025| Nairobi, Kenya – On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the stylish Trademark Hotel on Limuru Road will transform into a vibrant cultural hub as TEWASART AND PATRONS presents A Contemporary Art Affair: Emerging African Voices. Curated by Kenyan independent curator Thaddeus Wamukoya (Tewa), founder and director of TEWASART AND PATRONS, the exhibition will feature over 20 rising contemporary artists from East Africa and across the African continent.

This exclusive evening is more than an art showcase – it is also a fundraising event in support of the Tewas Art African Art Award & Residency Program – 2026. The initiative is designed to nurture emerging talent through mentorship, creative exchange, and international exposure, while providing a platform for artists to share their work with broader audiences.

Featured Artists Include: Abel Beyene, Natnael Ashebir, Tibeb Sirak, Mikiyas Sintayehu, Simon Abreham, Bridget Bibi Van Grieken, Sheila Bayley, Doreen Mueni, Fridah Ijai, Nadia Wamunyu, Muramuzi John Bosco, Babirye Erinah Fridah, Wafa Salah, Fasalejo Tobiloba, Erica Kapaya, Alsadg Mahmoud, Mujahid Alhadi, and Usra Hamza.

The exhibition reflects TEWASART AND PATRONS’ mission: to amplify the voices of African artists, particularly from the East African region, which has historically been underrepresented in the global art market. Unlike established markets in South and West Africa, East Africa’s art scene has faced challenges such as limited resources, infrastructure, and platforms for showcasing talent. Through pop-up exhibitions, publications, and an organic curatorial approach, TEWASART AND PATRONS connects artists to collectors, curators, and institutions worldwide.
