1. Bad Girls of the Bible: A Divine Theatrical Revolution

Step into a world where scandal, redemption, and divine drama collide in Bad Girls of the Bible, the electrifying new production by the acclaimed ChemiChemi Players. Running this weekend from Friday, May 16th, to Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at the Daystar University Auditorium on Valley Road, this play is set to challenge perceptions, stir laughter, and spark deep reflection.

Imagine a celestial reality show where history’s most infamous Biblical women—Jezebel, Delilah, Rahab, and more—get a chance to tell their side of the story. Written by Yafesi Musoke and directed by Julisa Rowe, this bold reimagining blends satire, raw emotion, and spiritual insight, brought to life by a powerhouse cast including Mwajuma Belle, Ivy Esther, and Wakio Mzenge. These women, often reduced to villains, finally reclaim their voices in a gripping narrative that balances wit with profound truth.

The premiere weekend kicks off with a Gala Night on May 16th, complete with themed biblical treats and an immersive atmosphere. Whether you’re drawn by faith, theater, or simply a love of untold stories, this production promises an unforgettable experience. Tickets range from KES 1,500 (Early Bird) to KES 5,000 (Gala Premiere).

Will they find redemption? You’ll have to see it to believe it.

2. RX-FEST 2025: A High-Octane Rally-Cross Spectacle

Rev up this weekend with RX-FEST, Kenya’s ultimate rally-cross showdown, roaring into Safaricom Stadium Kasarani on Saturday, May 17th, and Sunday, May 18th, 2025. From 7:00 AM each day, the air will buzz with the thunder of engines, the smell of burning rubber, and the cheers of fans as top drivers battle it out on a custom-built dirt track packed with jumps, drifts, and edge-of-your-seat overtakes.

Organized by RX Motorsport Kenya Management Ltd, this two-day festival is a must for speed lovers, families, and thrill-seekers alike. But RX-FEST isn’t just about racing—it’s a full-blown motorsport carnival.

While elite drivers push their machines to the limit, spectators can enjoy live commentary, food courts, merchandise stalls, and kid-friendly zones to keep the whole family entertained. Whether you’re a hardcore rally fan or just looking for an action-packed day out, the festival’s electric atmosphere will leave you breathless.

Tickets are a steal at KES 500 for a single day or KES 700 for the full weekend, making it one of the most affordable adrenaline rushes in town. So, bring your crew, and get ready for two days of dirt-flinging, engine-revving, heart-pounding fun!

3. “Pass The Aux” – Where Kenyan Music Takes Center Stage

This weekend, on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, Kenyan music lovers are in for an unforgettable experience as “Pass The Aux” transforms Bustani Gardens in Redhill into a pulsating celebration of sound, culture, and connection.

More than just a concert, this intimate yet electrifying event invites you to immerse yourself in Kenya’s rich musical tapestry, with genre-blending performances from three of the country’s most exciting acts: the magnetic Charisma, the soulful Chris Kaiga, and the lyrical powerhouse Okello Max.

Set against the lush, open-air backdrop of Bustani Gardens, “Pass The Aux” promises a vibe unlike any other, where live music, community, and good energy flow freely. Whether you’re vibing to Afro-fusion rhythms, singing along to urban pop anthems, or getting lost in storytelling melodies, this is your chance to experience Kenyan artistry at its rawest and most dynamic.

Grab your crew and come ready to dance, connect, and celebrate the soundtrack of our culture. Tickets are still available and will be sold at the gate. The aux cord is in their hands, but the night belongs to you.

4. Eats & Beats: Where Flavors Meet Grooves

This weekend, on Saturday, May 17th, Homeland Leisure Gardens transforms into Nairobi’s ultimate playground for food and music lovers as Eats & Beats takes center stage.

Imagine a sun-soaked afternoon blending smoky nyama choma aromas, gourmet street bites, and craft cocktails with an electrifying soundtrack of live DJs and surprise performances—this is where Kenya’s vibrant culinary and music cultures collide in perfect harmony.

Designed for foodies, music heads, and weekend revelers, the festival offers more than just a feast for your taste buds. Lounge in the garden’s chill zones, snap pics at Instagram-ready spots, or groove to a non-stop mix of afrobeats, gengetone, and soulful live acts.

With advance tickets at just KES 500 (or KES 2,100 for a group of 5), it’s the most deliciously affordable escape from the city’s hustle. Gather your squad, bring your appetite, and let Eats & Beats serve up the ultimate Saturday of flavor, rhythm, and unmissable vibes.

5. Vienyeji Pro Max: A Kenyan Satire with French Flair

This weekend, Alliance Française Nairobi becomes the stage for a theatrical masterpiece as Gadwill Odhiambo reimagines Molière’s 17th-century French comedy Les Précieuses Ridicules with a deliciously Kenyan twist.

Vienyeji Pro Max, showing May 17th and 18th, transforms the classic satire on social pretension into a sharp, laugh-out-loud commentary on modern Nairobi’s obsession with status, clout, and “keeping up appearances.”

The play follows two young women from the village who arrive in the city determined to reinvent themselves as “high-class” urbanites—only to hilariously fumble through their quest for sophistication. With witty dialogue, exaggerated egos, and a plot full of disguises and comeuppance, Odhiambo’s adaptation brilliantly mirrors today’s social media-driven facades and the timeless folly of chasing false prestige.

Whether you’re a theatre buff, a Molière admirer, or just craving a night of smart humor and cultural relevance, this production promises an unforgettable experience. Best of all? Entry is free with prior registration, so secure your spot and witness this bold blend of French classicism and Kenyan cheek.
