Pass the Aux Highlights: A Musical Vibes Weekend to Remember

Relive the highlights, vibes, and wild moments of ‘Pass the Aux,’ a night of young talent, big performers, and so much more.

This past weekend, Nairobi’s music lovers and vibe chasers came together for Pass the Aux, the ultimate musical experience that had everyone talking, dancing, and living their best lives. Held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the stunning Bustani Gardens in Redhill, this event was not just a concert—it was a full-blown celebration of Kenya’s freshest sounds and rising stars.

Organised by House of Banter, Pass the Aux brought a mix of live performances, immersive sound, and next-level production that turned the lush outdoor garden into a mini-paradise for music heads. The lineup was straight fire, with Charisma, Chris Kaiga, and Okello Max delivering electrifying sets that had the crowd singing along, word for word.

From the moment the gates opened at 12 PM, it was clear—Pass the Aux was the place to be. The energy? Unmatched. The music? Timeless. The experience? One for the books.

Here’s what you missed:

You could feel the energy from the moment you stepped into Bustani Gardens—Pass the Aux was not playing around! The sponsors came through big time, keeping the crowd fed, hydrated, and in high spirits.

Guinness had everyone smiling with unlimited free samples of their new Guinness Smooth, and trust us, that stand was never empty. June, one of the attendees, put it perfectly: “The free drinks were a game-changer!”

Additionally, Tropical Heat hooked people up with their new pop nachos, and some lucky folks walked away with vouchers. And let’s not forget the food and drink stands—Jaba Juice, burgers, fries, chicken, shisha, vape… name it, they had it! There was something for everyone, whether you wanted to munch, sip, or just vibe.

Good Vibes Met Great Talent

The setup at Bustani Gardens was next level—huge tents, comfy chairs, and so much space just to chill or dance your heart out. And people came dressed to impress, bringing colour, style, and nothing but good energy. There were smiles, laughter, and pure excitement everywhere you looked—you could tell this was the place to be.

Plus, the music was nothing short of impressive. Before the main acts, the hype session had everyone grooving to Rhumba, old-school jams, and smooth R&B—thanks to an MC who knew exactly how to keep the vibes right.

And the best part? The event ran on time (yes, Kenyan time was defeated!), sticking to the schedule shared earlier on Instagram. No delays, no stress—just good music and great energy.

Then, at 6 PM sharp, things got even better with the Pass the Aux session, where upcoming Kenyan artists got their moment to shine. From fresh sounds to future hits, this was the perfect chance to discover Kenya’s next big stars—and trust us, some of these artists are about to blow up! If you love supporting local talent, this segment alone was worth the ticket.

When the Real Show Began

The energy went to the next level when MC Kibunja kicked off the evening hype sessions at 7 p.m. With his electric energy, he had the crowd dancing, laughing, and fully warmed up for what was coming next. Another MC kept the momentum going, proving that even the transitions were an experience at Pass the Aux!

Then, at 10 pm sharp, Chris Kaiga hit the stage and the vibes ascended! His signature Kenyan Afro-Pop sound had everyone singing along word for word, from his latest hits to fan favourites. June and other attendees could not keep in their seats as Chris brought out hit after hit, carrying the crowd in a fun fever.

Even as more people poured in, the space never felt cramped—big up to the organisers for thinking ahead! But wait—the night was just getting started! After another killer hype session, Okello Max stepped up with that smooth Dholuo flavour we all love. His performance was pure magic—soulful, sensual and straight-up addictive. The crowd swayed like palm trees in a gentle breeze, completely lost in the moment.

Then at midnight, Charisma lived up to his name, delivering Luhya heat with so much passion, you could feel it in your bones. His dynamic stage presence had the crowd hyped, emotional and begging for more—the perfect way to get the crowd moving.

Pass the Aux Ended with a Legendary Bang

Just when we thought Charisma had given us his all, boom! The sensational Sudah, Bensoul, jumped on stage, followed by Okello Max, turning the stage into an epic Kodongklan performance. The energy. It was like watching Kenya’s music royalty collide in one explosive performance—the kind of moment people will talk about for months.

And the party didn’t stop until 3:30 am! Pass the Aux went all out, securing its place as this May’s hottest music event. Pass the Aux didn’t just give us music—it gave us core memories.
