If you missed the MUD 4 FUN – 4×4 Challenge 3rd Edition 2025 this past weekend, then you definitely missed a whole experience! From 18th to 20th April, Thika Groove Chania was alive as off-road lovers, thrill-seekers, and adventure junkies gathered for Africa’s Ultimate Off-Road Experience.
Organised by the legendary MUD 4 FUN Challenge, this event was all about mud, machines, and madness, and it did not disappoint! Whether you’re a hardcore 4×4 driver or just a fan of dirty, muddy fun, this was the place to be.

Rides were sliding, engines were roaring, and the vibes were 100/10! Plus, the crowd was a mix of everyone, from seasoned off-roaders showing off their moves to newbies just there for the aesthetic and the gram. No gatekeeping here—fun was for all!
So, what went down?
Day One: The Grand Sendoff & Mud-Filled Madness!
The day started with a lot of energy as 4×4 enthusiasts, bikers, and fun-seekers gathered in the Nairobi CBD for the epic send-off to Thika Groove Chania.
Imagine this: engines roaring, horns blaring, and vibes on a thousand! The convoy was a whole spectacle—massive 4×4 trucks, decked-out SUVS, and even motorbikes all rolling out in style. It was iconic!

By the time crews arrived at the venue, the energy was next level! The place was packed with vendors selling everything from kuku choma to ice-cold drinks. Plus, the kids weren’t left out. There was a special fun zone just for them, complete with a dirtbike race that had the little ones feeling like champions.
About the main event—the MUD—the first big splash into the mud pits had everyone cheering, laughing, and snapping videos. The Land Rover Drag Race was another highlight—those machines were flying, well, as much as a Land Rover can fly in mud. Tires spinning, mud splashing, engines growling—pure adrenaline!
As the sun went down, people started pitching tents for the overnight stay. Camping under the stars was the best way to end the day. And, of course, the night was filled with music, drinks, and non-stop energy.
Day Two: Rain, Mud & Pure Chaos!

A little rain never hurt nobody—especially not at MUD 4 FUN! Day Two came with dark clouds and heavy downpours, but that just made the mud deeper, the slides crazier, and the fun 10x better!
The crowd was still packed and hyped, because real off-roaders don’t run from a little water—they make it part of the show!
The tracks were slippery, messy, and absolutely wild! Rigs like Subarus, Suzuki Jimmys, Ford Raptors, Jeep Wranglers, J-100 Land Cruisers, and Nissan Patrols went head-to-head, spinning, sliding, and sometimes even getting stuck—but that’s where the real fun was!
Every time a truck got buried in the mud, a whole squad of 4×4 rescuers rushed in, pulling them out with ropes, winches, and pure teamwork.

Dirt bikes & ATVS were the side show that stole the spotlight. They were flying through the mud like they had wings! The crowd went crazy every time a rider hit a jump or skidded through a deep rut. Cheering, laughing, and even betting on who would wipe out next, the energy was unreal.
And of course, food and music kept the party going long after the engines cooled down. By the end of Day Two, everyone was covered in mud, exhausted, but still buzzing for the grand finale coming on Day Three!
Day Three: The Grand Finale – Big Rigs, Bigger Smiles!

The final day was all about going big or going home. The courses were wrecked from two days of abuse, but that just made the challenges even more insane. Toyota fanboys, Jeep loyalists, and every other 4×4 crew came out to prove why their ride was the toughest.
Land Cruisers vs. Patrols vs. Wranglers—who won? Let’s just say everyone who made it out alive.

Between the last epic rides, the vibes were immaculate. Music kept the crowd jumping, nyama choma kept hunger at bay, and the laughter never stopped. Even the kids were still running around, somehow still full of energy after three days of madness.
As the sun set, people packed up their muddy trucks, folded their tents, and said their goodbyes—but not without promising to come back next year. Faces were exhausted but happy, clothes were ruined but worth it, and memories were priceless.
