The Mt.Elgon 4×4 OFFROAD CHALLENGE last weekend was one for the books! On Saturday and Sunday, May 10–11, 2025, adrenaline junkies, nature lovers, and fun-seeking families all gathered at Kiptogot Forest in Mt. Elgon, Trans Nzoia County, for a weekend packed with action, good energy, and a whole lot of muddy fun.
Hosted by Jumbo Charge Trust, this wasn’t just any ordinary off-road event. The Mt.Elgon 4×4 OFFROAD CHALLENGE was a National Championship showdown where 4×4 beasts and their drivers battled rugged terrain, steep climbs, and slippery slopes—all in the name of competition and conservation.
But it wasn’t just about the cars. The event also brought people together for tree-growing, camping, bonfire stories, and an epic after-party that kept the vibes high long after the engines cooled down. Every rev, every cheer, and every ticket helped a great cause.
Proceeds went toward forest restoration under the “Adopt-a-Forest” program, which has already planted over 600,000 trees in the area. So, whether you came for the off-road madness, the family fun, or just to support the environment, this event had something for everyone.
Highlights:
Mud, Machines, and Mad Fun
Day 1 of the Mt.Elgon 4×4 OFFROAD CHALLENGE kicked off with big energy as drivers and fans gathered near Kiptogot Forest, engines growling and excitement in the air. The weather was perfect, just clear skies and good vibes all around. Smiles were broad, spirits were high, and the crowd was ready for a day of off-road madness.
One by one, the beasts rolled out—Defenders, Range Rovers, Hiluxes, Landcruiser V8s, and even a brave RAV4—all lining up to tackle the wild terrain. And when they hit that forest, the real fun began! Thick mud, steep climbs, and slippery slopes tested every driver’s skill. But the crowd was loving every second!
Team Gitau Munene led the charge in their tough-as-nails Defender, showing everyone how it’s done with smooth moves and fearless driving. The way that machine chewed through the mud was legendary.
By the end of Day 1, drivers were exhausted but still buzzing from the adrenaline. After conquering the rough trails, it was time to rest up—because Day 2 was coming, and the competition was only getting hotter!
Mud, Grit, and Glory
If you thought Day 1 was wild, Day 2 came with even bigger energy! The mud was thicker, the trails were meaner, and the drivers were ready for war! At Kiptogot Forest, Mt. Elgon, the wild was calling—and these 4×4 beasts answered. Tires aired down, lockers engaged, and engines roaring, the drivers came prepared to conquer the impossible.
No trail was too twisted, no incline too steep—this was pure off-road madness! Deep ruts tried to swallow whole trucks, rocky climbs tested every driver’s skill, but did that stop them? Not a chance! Machines growled, wheels spun, and mud flew everywhere as they pushed limits and left dust (and a few broken egos) in their wake.
And yes, getting stuck was part of the fun! But here’s the thing—every time a truck got buried in the mud, the crowd cheered louder.
Between all the revving and racing, participants took a break to plant over 200,000 indigenous trees—proving that the Mt.Elgon 4×4 OFFROAD CHALLENGE isn’t just about thrills, but also giving back to nature.
By the end, the victory was sweet, the memories were epic, and the only question left was—when’s the next one? Don’t miss out! Subscribe to our event calendar and be the first to know. This kind of fun, you just HAVE to experience it yourself!
